On Monday the
CFD was part of a
MABAS Task Force to help the
Cudahy Fire Department at the Patrick
Cudahy Plant. Engine 163 was
Cedarburg's contribution to the group. The other units in the group were;
Mequon Tower, Port Washington Tower and Chief,
Thiensville Engine and Chief, Grafton Engine,
Saukville Squad. The Task Force met as
Mequon Station 2. They left around 6 PM and arrived in staging around 6:30 PM. From that point units were assigned for duty as needed. Engine 163 was assigned to the C-Charlie side of the building around 8:30 PM along with
Thiensville. The engine was then shortly assigned to relieve a
Cudahy engine in relay pumping. The crew was left for assignment. The crew was assigned to relieve a crew on the roof at around 3-3:30 AM. This assignment included cooling the remaining debris and trying to extinguish the last of fire. At 7:30 AM the crew was relieved and arrived back in
Cedarburg at round 8:30 AM.

Gallons of Water Pumped: 400,000-500,000 gallon
Crew Work Time: 4 hours
Another Task Force was scheduled to go back on Wednesday but was called off.
It's not often to be at a fire that gets on the National News.
